Colletta "Coco" Paylor, a native Washingtonian from Southeast DC, has always been fascinated by anime and its complicated, yet familiar, adult themes. Adopting her own approach to communicate using a textured art style, her work examines subjects such as Black identity, including its perception through the lens our social climate, past and present.
